Background: This is a Father and Son journey to build a historic car that’s worthy of their bond.  The Gearhead bond started years earlier when Peter turned 16 and was “stuck in 1st gear” with his 1993 Geo Prism…Dave, being the great dad he was, found a 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II with a blown motor, which they worked tirelessly to swap a used JDM unit.  Months later, the Mazda roared to life spitting flames and sounds of a turbo spooling…

Farm Engineering at it’s best…there was high intake temperatures that was robbing over 100HP.  Using a dryer duct and homemade manometer, we confirmed that the intake filter was in a low pressure zone and was picking up lots of heat from the exhaust…creating in an intake box w/ forward feeding snorkels resolved the issue!
